KARACHI: Governor Sindh Imran Ismail invited a delegation of LADIESFUND award winners from the past decade to Sindh Governor House for a roundtable discussion and tea. Attendees included Sultana Siddiqui, Tina Sani, Angie Marshall, Moneeza Butt, Ameena Saiyed, Naila Naqvi, Farhat Rasheed, Shabina Mustafa, Noorjehan Bilgrami, Sahar Paracha, Madiha Sultan, as well as Tara Uzra Dawood.
The Governor of Sindh said, “I appreciate the decade-long efforts of LADIESFUND to encourage and support female entrepreneurs. These efforts are playing a significant role in the upliftment and empowerment of women by providing them financial securities.”
An invigorating discussion took place on needs and ideas to make Sindh more robust and the Governor got a wonderful opportunity to meet women leaders of diverse ages, economic backgrounds and sectors.
LADIESFUND® was established in 2007 as an initiative to provide financial security to women and to promote and train women entrepreneurs. It aims to integrate the entrepreneurial needs based on the economic and social aspects of the local communities, with respect to greater women participation in the workforce.
Dawood Global Foundation is audited by Ernst Young Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder and funds raised from LADIESFUND® events are tax exempt and go toward LADIESFUND® Fellowships & Scholarships as well as women development initiatives.
