ABU DHABI: His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, stopped by photographer Majed Al Katheeri’s wildlife photo exhibit at the ongoing hunting and equestrian event – ADIHEX – in Abu Dhabi.
The Emirati photographer greeted the minister and gave him a brief on the photo series. Al Katheeri’s work weaves together raw, unique moments captured in the wild, borne out of a week-long expedition in August with a team of photographers to Kenya’s Maasai Mara reserve. Showcased at the exhibit are also satellite communication devices from Thuraya Telecommunications Company, which Al Katheeri and his team relied on for remote connectivity. The satcom operator supported the wildlife photography expedition and collaborated with the team to enable vital communications and the sharing of daily photo captures on social media, right from the heart of the wilderness.
Al Katheeri says, “I am glad to be at ADIHEX and share my amazing adventures with fellow wildlife enthusiasts and countrymen. Thuraya’s satcom equipment not only kept me connected with family and friends while stationed away from civilization; but also presented my team and I, the perfect opportunity to entice international viewers to the beauty of the African bush, as we captured the shots in the wild. As an Emirati, I am proud to have used technology developed by a renowned and trusted company in the UAE.” PR
