High-level delegation of Japan International Cooperation Agency visits Sindh Education Foundation

KARACHI: A high-level delegation from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited the Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), Govt. of Sindh as part of its Terminal Evaluation exercise. The aim of the visit was to observe the results that have been achieved in the Non-Formal Education sector. SEF, being a stakeholder, shared about its NFE intervention by the name of Adolescent and Adult Learning and Training Program (AALTP).

The Managing Director, SEF while welcoming the delegation at SEF Head Office appreciated the nature of strategic partnership that the Foundation and JICA shares in the overall interest of the underprivileged and out of school children in the province. The Chief Advisor, JICA while praising the efforts of the Foundation reaffirmed JICA’s support. Subsequently, the meeting stressed upon highlighting areas where support is essential to ensure successes and on ground impact. The independent evaluator from Japan, who was accompanying JICA’s delegation, noted the learnings and as well as the suggestions.

  

The meeting was then followed by the visit of JICA’s delegation to AALTP centers being run by M/s Sindh Madressa Board in Gadap and Malir on July 12, 2019. The delegation was headed by Mr. Furuta  – Country Representative JICA and other members included Ms. Nakamora – Representative Education ,Ms. Chiho Ohashi – Chief Advisor,Ms. Hiroko Satito – Evaluator, Ms. Kayoko Enomoto – Project Coordinator,Mr. Muhammad Younus – Program Specialist,Mr. Sajjad Haider – Program Specialist,Mr. Abid Gill – Deputy Chief Advisor and Mr. Mehboob Elahi – Provincial Coordinator

The delegation was given a briefing and then were guided to witness the education and skill development components being implemented under AALTP. Members of the delegation showed interest in the working of the center and interacted with the learners and partner present at the centers. The delegation expressed their satisfaction in the manner in which NFE is being implemented at the AALTP centers.
