AJMAN: Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman marked the annual World Food Day by reaching out to Human Appeal International UAE.

The hotel donated excess food from its buffet, which will be distributed by the charity organisation to labour camps and underprivileged families. The team also affirmed its continuous commitment to reduce food wastage and help fight hunger.

General manager Iftikhar Hamdani commented: “We are fortunate to live in the UAE, and to have the ability to share our blessings to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Every time you think of wasting food, think of the millions of people who go hungry. In addition, the unnecessary amount of food waste has adverse effects on the environment and this is also a cause that we relevantly address.”

Mazen Khadour, the property’s executive chef and head of waste management committee, added: “At Ramada Ajman, we are strictly monitoring our food cost and consumption to ensure that only minimal amount goes unconsumed. With all our sustainability efforts, we take pride in the fact that our food waste do not contribute to pollution as we have in-house macerator and compost machine. Our kitchen team, along the staff, are well informed and proud to be on-board the hotel’s food management scheme.” News Desk
