DUBAI: LADIESFUND is organizing the launch of “The Buraq Center” in collaboration between Dawood Global Foundation, the German Consulate in Karachi and LUMS National Incubation Center (LUMS NIC) on Wednesday, 26th February 2020.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, guest of honour, German Consul General Eugen Wollfarth and special guest: Sanki King, Graffiti artist and designer of The Buraq Center.
The Buraq Center is an all-female incubation center, co-working space and women’s center, all based on I I Chundrigar Road, and the first of its kind for Pakistan and certainly for Pakistani women. Buraq is the Islamic and Urdu word for ‘unicorn,’ and refers to the pegasus on which the prophet flew to the seven heavens, and is considered very lucky. A unicorn of course globally refers to a start-up that is fast-growth and immensely successful.
