KARACHI: Ahmed Mir is back in Pakistan now as Country Manager of Qatar Airways an organization, which he has been serving since 1999. Mr. Ahmed Mir has previously served Qatar Airways in different capacities in Pakistan and then went on serve at other destinations of Qatar Airways worldwide. Now after almost a gap 10 years Mr. Ahmed Mir back in Pakistan.

Mr. Ahmed Mir was talking to the correspondent of Biz Today at the very impressive stall of Qatar Airways at 1st Pakistan Travel Mart (PTM), which is being held in Expo Centre, Karachi from 24th to 26th November 2017.

When asked about his reviews on 1st Pakistan Travel Mart, Mr. Ahmed Mir said; “PTM is good try and as for first attempt it can be called as an excellent try, we weren’t expecting such a great response from PTM and overall its good effort”.

Qatar Airways considers Pakistan as key market and due this very reason Qatar Airways showed their commitment to participate in 1st Pakistan Travel Mart and in the only prominent player from the aviation sector of GCC. According to Mr. Ahmed Mir; “Qatar Airways is proud to be here at PTM and is committed to Pakistan market and its Pakistani clientele as no other major airlines from the GCC participated in PTM”.

Qatar Airways stand at PTM had its own uniqueness as it has on display Qatar Airways Business Class seat and customers can come see and feel firsthand the ‘first class’ experience of Qatar Airways. Mr. Mir said; “we displayed our Business class seat B787 an engineer has been flown in from Doha, who is briefing visitors about the first class experience of Qatar Airways”.

Currently Qatar Airway flies from 7 major cities of Pakistan with total 68 flights weekly and is first choice for Pakistan travelers destined to Turkey, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Another edge that Qatar Airways has over its rivals is that also flies to cities like Baghdad and Najaf in Iraq and Tehran and Mashhad in Iran and these cities are preferred by ‘Zaaireen’ of Pakistan for visiting their sacred and holy sites.

Qatar Airways is also a member of OneWorld and with that Qatar Airways customers can use points earned their Qatar Airways Royalty Card on leading airlines like American Airlines, British Airway, Royal Jordanian Airlines to name a few of them.

On the concluding note Mr. Ahmed Mir said; “aviation industry should grow here, which will ultimately the tourism sector, and growth of these two integrated sectors will definitely help Pakistan’s economy as well as its image.
