KARACHI: ICMA Pakistan organized convocation for its new Associate and Fellow Members at Pear Continental hotel on Saturday, 2nd December.
Mr. Jahangir Siddiqui, Founder, JS Group, Chief Guest on the occasion advised the young graduates to Dream Big, He said that we all have a tendency to play safe and settle for levels, which we consider safe and attainable. If we Dream big and go after these Dreams, we open up a new opportunities and challenges, which will orbit of self-satisfaction. Effective contributions to society are invariably an outcome of Big Dreams”. There is no substitute for hard work with smart approach, developing oneself to meet the global challenges achieving your ultimate goal should be the aim of life .The lesson that I have learnt in the process is once you set your ambitious goal and steadfastly pursue the goal, the world around you conspires to make it happen.
He also congratulated all the parents for the sacrifice they have made to ensure a proper education for their young ones. He was sure their expectation and sacrifice will not go in vain and future will justify the financial investment they have made for the higher education of their children.

There should be independent from the accounting bodies and SECP so that it could play its role in upholding quality and standard of financial reporting in Pakistan and safeguarding the interests of all the stakeholders, including the business, trade, industry, professionals and public at large.
He informed the audience that ICMA Pakistan has adopted the International Ethics Standards Board of Accountants (IESBA) Code of Ethics in relation to responding to Non-Compliance with Laws and Regulations (NOCLAR). He said that NOCLAR has redefined the accountants’ role when laws or regulations are broken and establishes a pathway that enables accountants to disclose NOCLAR to a public authority.
Mr. Ghori said that the recognition of ICMA Pakistan qualification by CIMA (UK), CPA Ireland, CPA Australia and ICAEW (UK) shows that the curriculum of ICMA Pakistan is at par with these international accounting bodies
Mr. Khawaja Ehrar ul Hassan, Honorary Secretary of ICMA Pakistan also congratulated the Associate Members and Qualified Students on the occasion. He also said that the qualification of ICMA Pakistan has opened a world of opportunities for them
Mr. Anis ur Rehman, Vice President, ICMA Pakistan thanked the Chief Guest, Parents and young graduates.
During the ceremony Certificates of Merit among students, Best Faculty and Long Serving Faculty Awards were also given. The Convocation was attended by a large number of young Associate Members, qualified students, faculty and parents.
