The 2021 Arab Aviation Summit (AAS), the region’s leading aviation and tourism industry event, today announced a raft of safety measures in line with global best practices for the event taking place in Ras Al Khaimah from March 21 to 22 at Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre.
The eighth edition of the summit will bring together experts to discuss the impact of the pandemic on the industry, the aftermath, and the road to recovery for a stronger future, under the theme, ‘Arab Aviation in the New Normal.’ The organisers are curating the safest face-to-face business environment to deliver a world-class event with the highest safety protocols. It is also the first major industry event to be held in-person in Ras Al Khaimah in a year.
There are a number of strict safety and hygiene protocols: Wearing masks will be mandatory, with social distancing to ensure the wellbeing of all delegates. On-site registration will be seamless with touchless Access System with face recognition with disinfection teams sanitizing the venue, before opening, during the event, and after each day.

In addition social distance stewardess will be at the venue to promote safety with signage on the floor, and no self-service during the event. A team of dedicated assistants will be responsible for serving from the buffet, microphone filters will be replaced after every use and organisers have gone further in respecting the maximum capacity guidelines, with a total occupancy of only 30 per cent of the available space, among other safety measures.
Al Hamra International Exhibition & Conference Centre in Ras Al Khaimah, the location of the 2021 AAS, offers state-of-the-art, elegantly designed meeting facilities, and is the first safe meeting facility in the world, as certified by Bureau Veritas, the international leader in testing and inspection services.
The certification follows the implementation of stringent safety and security protocols by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority as part of its swift action to implement its Stay Safe Hotel certification. This offered hospitality and event providers access to global best practice, as well as supportive policies and professional guidance on safety and hygiene.
The heightened safety standards, training, and hygiene protocols in place across the Emirate has established Ras Al Khaimah’s recognition as the first city in the world to receive both the prestigious ‘Safeguard Assurance’ Label from Bureau Veritas and the World Travel and Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Safe Travels Stamp.
