Expo 2020 Dubai’s female workforce joined Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai, for an opportunity to celebrate International Women’s Day on Tuesday.
Women from the dedicated full-time team – nicknamed the “Expo Tribe” – joined HE Al Hashimy for a special photo opportunity in support of this year’s International Women’s Day theme, #breakthebias, as well as to recognise Dubai’s commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The memorable moment was captured on cameras and drones at the Sustainability Plaza. Attendees clapped when Her Excellency arrived and waved for the photograph.
By acknowledging and celebrating the meaningful impact women have made in society throughout history, while highlighting the challenges that still need to be overcome, Expo 2020 Dubai is committed to shifting perspectives, exploring shared experiences and embracing the infinite approaches to a more equitable and just world.
Expo 2020 Dubai’s International Women’s Day activities are led by the Women’s Pavilion, in collaboration with Cartier, inviting visitors to recognise an essential principle: when women thrive, humanity thrives.
