In honour of International Women’s Day, Rixos The Palm Dubai Hotel & Suites organised an intimate panel discussion titled ‘Paving the Way’ with leading female speakers including Emilia Ohrtmann, author of #itsyourlife along with founder and designer of Emilia Ohrtmann brand, Ramia Farrage, Senior producer and presenter Forbes Middle East, and Alanoud AlHashimi, CEO & Founder of The Futurist Company to celebrate their iconic journeys and the spirit of womanhood. Moderated by MC and global keynote speaker, Mariam Farag, the event showcased a full-fledged schedule and a strong presence of well-renowned female entrepreneurs and women in the region. It encouraged women to be brave, chase their dreams, and follow their passion fearlessly.
The panel was hosted in the Executive Grand King Suite Penthouse, consisting of floor-to-ceiling windows with a 360° breath-taking panorama of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s skyscrapers. An expansive terrace was set up with star delicacies giving an ample opportunity for the ladies to network and build further upon the power of women in a welcoming space.
In line with this year’s International Women’s Day “Break The Bias” theme, the panel explored ways in which the world could be free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Rixos continues to attract women to its workforce and creates various employment opportunities for them. In result, women are employed in a variety of roles within this industry, ranging from cleaning personnel and kitchen staff to front-line customer service workers and senior management employees. Rixos The Palm Dubai Hotel & Suites today employs a total of 527 staff across its branches, from which over 100 are female staff across different departments in the hotel.

The panel discussion saw each woman share their remarkable journey, while sharing empowering words of optimism for a more equitable and sustainable society.
