Pakistan’s market-leading Crop Protection and Seeds business – Syngenta has committed to accelerating initiatives that drive gender equality in its workforce, as the General Manager of Syngenta Pakistan, Zeeshan Hasib Baig has joined the ‘Male Champions of Change’ (MCC) Pakistan. Syngenta’s Leadership team recently signed this agreement with the Convenor of MCC Pakistan – Ms. Fiza Farhan, during a formal ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Zeeshan Hasib Baig stated that: “Gender-equality is one of the key factors for ensuring a healthy society and a successful organisation. As a company, we understand this and have several effective programs in place, like; ‘Laut Aao’ – for women returning to the workforce.  I am proud to be joining the ‘Male Champions of Change’ Pakistan and look forward to taking bold actions to disrupt the status-quo and achieve greater representation of women in leadership.”

Founded in Australia, in 2010, the ‘Champions of Change Coalition’ was extended internationally to Pakistan in 2018 and now the ‘Male Champions of Change Pakistan’ includes 22 active members who lead more than 55,000 employees across the nation, including corporate leaders from diverse industries like; hospitality, consumer-goods, telecommunications, retail, textile, financial-services, information-technology, microfinance, logistics and media.

Champions of Change share a commitment to creating a fair, diverse, and inclusive world, shaped by empowered and capable women in every industry. Members meet quarterly to set objectives and share their learnings. In February this year, the members of ‘Male Champions of Change Pakistan’ endorsed their Action-Groups for the year ahead, along with a commitment to addressing gender pay-equity sexual-harassment, every-day sexism/ everyday respect. This initiative is also building champions beyond the CEO level, to create more inclusive workplaces.
