DUBAI: Global Village is back with “season 27” which will open on October 25 this year, organisers of the family destination said in an announcement. The venue will feature 27 pavilions as an ode to the season, and will also see the presence of two new pavilions, Qatar and Oman.
Ms. Carine Current Media head of the Global Village talking to Regional Times that the other country pavilions include, UAE, KSA, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Africa, Americas, China, Egypt, Europe, India, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, Yemen and Russia. Each of these pavilions will offer visitors arts and crafts, national foods, entertainment and products from the country or region.
Chief operating officer Mohamed Sharaf said that “Global Village has been a regional and international phenomenon for over two decades, helping cement Dubai as a global hub for entertainment and tourism,”. Sharaf added that planning and construction is on track for the opening.
A new concept, titled ‘Road of Asia’ will also be introduced and will feature 43 kiosks, offering exclusive products who are not represented through the 27 pavilions. The kiosks will be set up by 13 Asian countries Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Brunei, Laos, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and Philippines.
