Arts Council of Pakistan Chairman Commissioner Karachi and Chief Election Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon has said that the Deputy Commissioner South has been appointed as the Election Commissioner for Arts Council elections 2023-2024.
According to the law, elections will be held on December 18, 2022, the administration shall take all possible measures for peaceful elections, shall take all possible measures for campaigning and elections, rioting or actions which may cause unrest during election campaigning and elections shall be prohibited, possession of arms shall be prohibited. He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at the Arts Council along with Deputy Commissioner South Saeed Leghari on Tuesday.
He said that the nomination papers are being collected from December 7, 2022, the tradition of elections is going on every two years, we conduct transparent elections and the election process continues in a vigorous manner, he said that elections will be held keeping the democratic traditions intact, we are trying to make the election process successful, all the officers of the division will be involved in this process, he said that on the day of the election, someone Any kind of rioting and sloganeering will not be allowed, while arms will be banned to maintain peace and order, he said, “We are a democratic nation, all artists are a beacon o, I am proud of the fact that Arts Council Karachi is working for the arts worldwide, regarding the election schedule, he said that the voter list has been displayed, on December 7, the candidates will be announced at 5 p.m.
Nomination forms can be submitted till 8th December, nomination form will be scrutinized on 9th December at 5 pm. The forms can be withdrawn, the final list of candidates will be displayed on December 10, the final list of candidates will be displayed on December 10, the election campaign will end at 12 midnight on December 16, while the voting will continue on December 18 from 10 am to 8 pm. It will continue till noon.
