Popular Dubai-based retailer ‘Union Coop’ received a delegation from Italy, which included several dignitaries and diplomats, on the sidelines of the promotion ‘Living the Sweet Italian Life’ event.
The event coincides with the ‘Gulfood Exhibition’ and will see Union Coop corporate with the Italian branch Euromercato to offer discounts of up to 75% on popular Italian products.
The official visit aimed to review ways of cooperation in the field of food trade and to learn about the pivotal role played by the cooperative in providing high-quality products and commodities with international standards to consumers, as well as methods of display and storage.
On behalf of Union Coop, the delegation was received by the Chairman ‘H.E. Majid Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi’, the Managing Director ‘H.E. Abdulla Mohammad Rafie Al Dallal’ and the Director of the Happiness & Marketing Dept. Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki, in the presence of Managers and staff.
The Italian delegation included Honorable Francesco Lollobrigida – Italian Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, HE Lorenzo Fanara – Italian Ambassador to the UAE, HE Giuseppe Finocchiaro – Consul General of Italy in Dubai, Amedeo Scarpa – Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE and HE Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Alshehhi – Chairman of Euromercato and other representatives from Euromercato.
Union Coop’s Chairman HE Al Shamsi gave a brief tour of the Umm Suqeim branch while explaining the services offered, best practices in sales and delivery, customer happiness services, expansion strategies and digital retail solutions. The Chairman explained to them in detail the culture of retail trade in Union Coop and the methodology of allocating space to international products and the exclusive way they are promoted in the periodic promotional magazines.
For his part, The Managing Director of Union Coop confirmed the cooperative’s commitment to trade expansion by establishing trade relationships with foreign nations to include international brands in their portfolio, which ultimately enhances commercial movement in UAE’s retail sector, specifically Dubai. The MD further pointed out that visits such as these not only help to exchange knowledge related to retail trade but also help to stay updated on the recent developments in retail, introduce new products and plan new promotional campaigns that will help reach the largest consumer segment.
He mentioned that Italian products have a good share in the UAE market, specifically in Dubai. Union Coop with its strategic partners organizes promotional campaigns throughout the year to reach the largest segment of consumers and offer them high-quality products at competitive prices.
