Egyptian Research Centre inks agreement with ICCBS-UoK

The National Research Centre (NRC), Cairo, Egypt, has signed a Letter of Intent with the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi (UoK).

Spokesman of the ICCBS, University of Karachi, on Wednesday said, “The letter of intent aims to develop scientific and technical cooperation between both the Institutions.”

According to the spokesman, the letter of intent was signed in a meeting held in the ICCBS, University of Karachi, recently. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, and COMSTECH Coordinator-General, and Prof. Dr. Hussein Darwish, the NRC President, signed the agreement on behalf of their institutions.

Prof. Iqbal Choudhary, in his speech, mentioned that the ICCBS, University of Karachi, was one of premier research establishments in the developing world.

 Prof. Hussein Darwish said that the NRC, Egypt, was the first and largest multidisciplinary research institution in the Middle East. It is an independent public governmental organization, established in 1956, he added.

The NRC and the ICCBS, University of Karachi, have the intention to support promotion and extension of cooperation in ‘scientific research and technology development’ in fields of mutual interest. Both the institutions will arrange to sign a memorandum of understanding within the year 2023.
