KARACHI/JAKARTA: On 2nd of July 2023 in Pearl Continent Hotel, Karachi, Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi held a Media Gathering. The event was intended to give tokens of appreciation to the media community in Karachi for their contribution to the enhancement of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Pakistan, especially in Sindh Province.
On his opening remarks, the Indonesian Consul General, Dr. June Kuncoro Hadiningrat, stated that the role of journalists and media are important to boost diplomacy in general, and in the context of Indonesia-Pakistan, they have introduced Indonesia to the wider scope of Pakistani public. Dr. June also highlighted that within the last 2 consecutive years Indonesia has provided biggest allocation of the Indonesian Scholarship Program (KNB) for Pakistani applicants as part of enhancing the socio-cultural relations if the two countries.
During that event, several media persons have received the awards, namely Mr. Rafiq Vayani, Executive Editor, Biz Today International, Mr. Zahid Karani (senior journalist), Mr. Raja Anis from Metro One News, Mr. Syed Savez Ali from BOL TV, Mr. Muhammad Zubari Uddin from PTV, Mr. Syed Mehboob from News Lark, and other media persons.
The media community in Karachi indeed is very active in covering various diplomatic events, provides supports and coverage about Indonesia and Indonesian diplomacy in Pakistan. Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi remains committed to work together with media community in Pakistan, especially those in Sindh Province.
