DUBAI/KARACHI: The Pakistan-Japan Business Forum (PJBF) held its 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) chaired by its Patron-in-Chief, Ambassador of Japan Mitsuhiro Wada.
The newly-appointed PJBF Chairman Murtaza Mandviwalla, his predecessor Kalim Farooqui, supported by Senior Vice Chairman Itaru Nakamura and Vice Chairman Feroz Alam Shah shared the details of this year’s performance report, while the financial report was presented by Finance Director Hanif Sattar.
The Pakistan-Japan Business Forum is a leading bilateral business forum with 20 directors on its board having business interests in Japan, 10 of whom are Japanese nationals residing in Pakistan and spearheading Japanese conglomerates here.
The PJBF board also has observer members, Consul-General of Japan in Karachi Odagiri Toshio and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Country Head Kazunori Yamaguchi. The PJBF members comprise business icons from diversified fields of trade and industry sectors such as automotive, pharmaceutical, information technology, textile, engineering, fisheries, petrochemicals, and steel, among others.
Keeping with its tradition, the AGM of PJBF was followed by dinner and entertainment program attended by notable dignitaries, which besides the PJBF members, included several members of the diplomatic community based in Karachi.
The Deputy Consul General of Japan in Karachi, Yasushi Nakagawa, enthralled the attendees by playing saxophone and received great appreciation and applause from the audience.
