KARACHI: The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), in association with The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), proudly announces a landmark celebration commemorating a USD 4 billion export achievement milestone. The event titled “FOUR – The Quadra Legacy” was held at the historic Mohatta Palace, marking the first time a sustainability-focused event of this magnitude took place at this iconic venue.
The celebration honored the achievement of USD 4 billion in rice exports by REAP, showcasing the remarkable success of Pakistan’s rice export industry. The event also paid homage to the rich heritage and symbolism of the number 4 in Islamic architecture, with Mohatta Palace as the backdrop. Emphasizing eco-conscious practices, the event featured zero waste initiatives, utilizing recyclable and compostable materials, renewable energy sources, and informative displays on sustainability. It symbolically represented the immersive experience of ‘chaar bagh’ (four gardens), intertwining the four elements of nature: earth, air, water, and fire. The event also featured an exclusive performance by the legendary Shafqat Amanat Ali, along with Khumariyaan and Lenny Massey an opening act designed to engage all senses and celebrate Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
Mr Chela Ram Kewlani, Chairman – Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), shared his thoughts, “Our journey to achieving USD 4 billion in rice exports is a story of perseverance and vision.. We also look forward to pushing the USD 4 Billion achievement to USD 6 Billion in the coming months”
The event celebrated partnerships focused on recycling, reusing through donations, and tree plantations, collaborating with local organizations such as the Paani, Trash-it, and Good Karma. These partnerships supported and enhanced the sustainable ethos of the event. In addition, The Quadra Legacy event management, along with REAP have pledged to support the Mangrove plantation project to balance the carbon footprint of the event.
