Royal Orchid Plus celebrates 25th anniversary with special privileges

BANGKOK: Royal Orchid Plus, Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), held a press conference to launch its 25th anniversary celebration and special privileges that will be offered throughout the year. Mr. Wiwat Piyawiroj, THAI Executive Vice President, Commercial, presided over the launch event, which was also attended by Mr. Marlin Brown, Vice President and Country Manager of Thailand, American Express, and Mrs. Jurairat Sirisambhand, Group Director of Sales & Marketing, Dusit – Dusit International, with the presence of Mr. Isara Kitnitchee or Tom Room39 at the Event Hall of CentralFestival EastVille.

Mr. Wiwat Piyawiroj, THAI Executive Vice President, Commercial, said that the Royal Orchid Plus was launched on 1 July 1993. Over the past 25 years, Royal Orchid Plus has extended special privileges to its members whenever they fly with THAI and Star Alliance member airlines. Currently, Royal Orchid Plus has over 3.5 million members worldwide and has collaborated with 77 business partners. In 2016, Royal Orchid Plus transitioned from being a frequent flyer program to become a coalition program that partners with various businesses such as banks and credit card companies, hotels, car rentals, cafés and restaurants, movie theaters, health and beauty, sports, supermarkets, and communication providers. As a result, Royal Orchid Plus became an important marketing tool that boosts commercial sales and revenue.

Marking Royal Orchid Plus’ 25th anniversary, THAI joins together with new business partners that include the Government Savings Bank, Vana Nava Water Jungle, Blacklane Limousine, Concept Golf Management, and iFree to offer special privileges and personalized services for Royal Orchid Plus members. Members have a wide array of selections for mileage redemption in a way that is relevant to their lifestyle, through THAI Priority Award ticketing redemption and Cash+Miles whereby members can redeem THAI tickets by using miles and cash.

THAI has developed its services and benefits on a digital platform, in line with the Thailand 4.0 Policy. A digital hotel reservation reward and digital membership card can be kept in the E-Wallet on the My ROP application. Various e-voucher rewards may be selected through reward redemption options. This application serves as an Omni-Channel, where members can use their digital membership card to redeem rewards conveniently. The Royal Orchid Plus website is available in seven languages, which are French, German, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Italian, and Russian, apart from Thai and English. Members are able to accrue and redeem miles in various ways worldwide in an online marketplace.

In celebration of Royal Orchid Plus’ 25th anniversary, members can redeem miles for movies and beverages in a movie night redemption or redeem miles to join a golf competition. Royal Orchid Plus also offers 25% bonus miles for passengers who have registered and travelled on THAI international flights and four-digit TG flight numbers operated by THAI Smile in specified classes of travel, valid until 30 June 2018. There are special Buy One, Redeem 50% privileges, whereby members can purchase one ticket and redeem 50% miles for another ticket.

Royal Orchid Plus will also launch activities to strengthen member and business partner relationships. On 1-2 July 2018, THAI will hold an event at Quartier Gallery, EmQuartier and offer special priced tickets. At the event, Royal Orchid Plus members can participate in the Cash+Miles program using at least 2,500 miles or more to purchase tickets in a Buy One, Redeem 50% program. In addition, members can redeem less miles for tickets, starting from 25%, and enjoy Triple Miles Reward when a tour package is purchased from Royal Orchid Holidays. News Desk
