DUBAI: The Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has won two awards at the prestigious ‘Stevie’ Global Awards, considered one of the most renowned business awards worldwide, in the categories of Executive of the Year and Products and Services for Business Technology Solutions for 2024.
The awards were received at a special ceremony held in Istanbul to honor the winners. The awards were accepted by H.E. Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation, and Noura Al Shamsi, Director of Strategy and Governance. Dr. Hamad Al Hosani, Director of the Legal Affairs Department, was also honored with the Gold Award for Best Executive in the Legal Affairs category for 2024, in recognition of his commitment to implementing the highest professional standards and best legal practices.
In this context, Al Neyadi expressed his pride and optimism in this achievement, stating: “We are proud to win two prestigious awards at the ‘Stevie’ Global Awards. This recognition reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in delivering our services, and we affirm our continued dedication to the path of superiority to achieve the vision of our wise leadership in the UAE to always remain at the forefront”.
Regarding the awards, Al Neyadi pointed out that the Corporation received the Gold Award for Executive of the Year in the Legal Affairs category, and the Bronze Award for the Smart Ports Inspection System in the category of Products and Services for Business Technology Solutions. This system is the first fully automated inspection system implemented in the UAE and the GCC for ship inspections in compliance with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards.
The CEO emphasized that this recognition is evidence of the diligent efforts and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the teams at the Corporation. He expressed his confidence in all Corporation employees to achieve further accomplishments in the future and extended his deep gratitude to all employees for their continued efforts in promoting business growth along this path.
Speaking about the Smart Inspection System, His Excellency stated that this system has excelled in reducing the time required to issue inspection reports from more than three working days to less than one working day, with an improvement rate of up to 300%. The system also successfully reduced the time taken for processing documents and reports by 80%, eliminating manual report handling, and achieving 100% digitalization.
He further noted that the Smart Inspection System boasts high accuracy, achieving zero errors in operational procedures while ensuring transparency and accountability at 100% during inspection processes.
The system also features a comprehensive database that includes details about ships and their previous inspection histories, along with accurate records covering previous logs and procedures. Clients can review reports and submit compliance procedures online, which has contributed to improving the quality and quantity of inspections, achieving an accuracy rate of 99% in inspection reports.
Al Neyadi also congratulated the Director of Legal Affairs for winning the Gold Award for Best Legal Executive, commending his outstanding expertise in the field, as well as his exceptional ability to build effective teams and address legal challenges with flexibility and wisdom while ensuring full compliance with all applicable regulations.
