The Karachi Christmas Market 2024 transformed the Alliance Française de Karachi into a vibrant celebration of the city’s spirit of diversity, inclusivity, and enterprise. Organized by Media Republic, the event brought together a cross-section of Karachi society, including locals and expats, to honor the city’s dynamic and entrepreneurial essence.
The market was inaugurated by Rear Admiral Mazhar Mahmood Malik, who commended the event for highlighting Karachi’s diversity and innovative spirit. In his remarks, he lauded the city’s resilience, multiculturalism, and immense business potential, emphasizing how initiatives like this market serve as a platform to uplift and unite the community. The public event was attended by a distinguished guest list that included the US Consul General, the Japanese Consul General, and prominent social activists Luke Victor and Pastor Ghazala Shafique. Celebrities such as Nida Yasir, Sanam Saeed, Noreen Gulwani, Sehar Afzal, Ayesha Tammy Haq, and Quaid Ahmed added to the star-studded gathering, making the market a memorable occasion.
One of the day’s most heartwarming moments was the Christmas carol performance by children from the Bait-ul-Momineen Church, who received goody bags generously sent by Ms. Sherry Rehman and Mr. Nadeem Hussain. Media Republic and Nayash Wellness also gave gifts to the children. Adding to the festive spirit, students from DeafReach schools showcased their artistic talents and hosted interactive pottery-making activities for children, creating an inclusive, family-friendly environment.
