Malaysian Consul General emphasizes on students’ extra-curriculum activities

KARACHI: Malaysian Consul General in Karachi, Khairul Nazran Abd Rahman emphasized on promoting culture of extra-curricular activities among students as there is no substitute for remaining healthy and for career building.

He was speaking, as the chief guest, to the participating students at the successful conclusion of Beach Luxury Summer Camp.

Forty students, of age group four to fourteen years, availed this training camp on swimming and karate.

General Manager of Beach Luxury Hotel M. Azeem Qureshi along with his management team welcomed Malaysian diplomat and his wife, who are already impressed of the hospitality of Karachiites.

The Consul General said the extra-curricular activities had proved a very effective tool for fitness of body and mental growth among students, including discovering talent. These build spirit of team work; learning to work with others is a crucial job.

These set stage for learning about   setting of goals and their pursuance.

There is direct correlation between academic achievements, and participation in extra-curriculum activities and after school programms, he said.

About swimming, he said, it builds endurance,  muscles strength and cardiovascular fitness along with maintaining healthy weight and healthy heart and lungs.

Malaysian diplomat urged the students to continue extra-curriculum activities as these gave birth to popular players in the world who earned big name for their countries.

Khairul Nazran Abd Rahman said it looked very good to him that like in Malaysia, extra-curricular activities in Pakistan especially in Karachi were being held on large scale and in very organized manner.

He also appreciated the efforts of Beach Luxury Hotel management for promoting extra-curriculum activities.

On this occasion, he mentioned, in Malaysia there were many big tourism avenues and  Pakistanis were always welcome to.  Specially during vacations, Pakistanis could enjoy their stay in Malaysia.

Beach Luxury Hotel’s General Manager M.Azeem Qureshi said the summer camp offered fun and unique experience to the children to discover new interests , meet new friends and create memories lasting lifetime.

The participants received training in healthy activities–from swimming to lessons of self-disciple and socialization skills through karate, he said.

The participating students were given certificates and gifts by the Malaysian Consul General and his wife. NNI
