KARACHI: Official meeting between Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Dawood Global Foundation President Tara Uzra Dawood and LADIESFUND Awards Committee member Sanam Agha, and discussion on the upcoming 10th Anniversary of the LADIESFUND Women’s Awards of Pakistan 2018 to be hosted by the Governor at Governor House on October 11, 2018 – International Day of the Girl. DGF has also educated vocationally the daughters of the staff of Governor’s House through their award-winning Educate a Girl programme.
The LADIESFUND Awards honour excellence of Pakistani women and past winners include Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Malala Yousufzai, Dr. Ruth Pfau, Daulat Rahimtoolah, Samina Baig, Seema Aziz, Nafis Sadik, Sultana Siddiqui, Ameena Saiyid, among others.
Finalists are shortlisted by a panel of judges – all past winners – from a list of public nominations. The final slate is given for public voting, making through truly the awards of the people.
In addition to the main awards, there are commendations in art, fashion, medicine, and so forth, as well as special recognitions for pioneer, angel and posthumous.
This year, in keeping with the special #HeForShe theme, there are Men if Inspiration recognitions as well.
