KARACHI: The Consulate of Italy in Karachi in collaboration with Karachi Marriott Hotel and Karachi Institute of Culinary Arts(KICA) organized the Italian Cuisine week “Settimana della cucina Italiana nel Mondo” on November 20, 2018 at Karachi Marriott Hotel.
At this occasion a talk and presentation on “health benefits of Mediterranean diet” was given by Ms Moti Khan, Dietician at Agha Khan University Hospital followed by an Italian culinary competition in which 5 students from KICA participated. A panel of judges comprising of two Italians: Ms. Sara Del Re and Mr. Giuseppe Maniscalco and two Pakistani culinary experts: Mr. Ayaz Khan and Mr. Muhammad Hamid selected the winner of the competition, the young and talented student of KICA, Sana Sani. The second and third position was won by Kashif Raza and Kashif Zaheer followed by Syed Osama and Saifullah as runner ups. The participants were awarded by the Italian Consul in Karachi, H.E. Anna Ruffino.
The multi-talented and young fitness trainer, Ms. Fatima Zara Mallick was the master of ceremony, who kept the audience engaged and entertained during the competition.
It was a great evening of wonderful Italian aperitivos, coffee, gelato and desserts using Italian ingredients sponsored by M/S Blue Mountain Trading, which represents Irca and Fabbri products in Pakistan. The event was attended by both Pakistani and Italian community in Karachi. BIZ TODAY REPORT
